Savvy business enhancements with iOS 8

24.07.14

The eagerly anticipated iOS 8 operating upgrade is due to hit Apple devices this Autumn. Bursting with new features and enhancements from changes to the Messages app to easier content sharing, iOS 8 is predicted to provide the most natural experience yet. But one thing Apple developers haven't overlooked is business users, creating an upgrade that is set to transform devices into the most powerful business partner yet.

iOS 8 boasts new security, productivity and device management features. The existing enterprise-grade security technologies currently built into iOS have been made even more powerful in the new upgrade. Data protection has been expanded to even more apps. In addition to Mail and third-party apps, the Calendar, Contacts, Reminders, Notes, and Messages apps can be protected with a passcode.
Mail has been improved through new time-saving features. To help manage busy inboxes, users can quickly swipe left or right to mark messages as read or unread or flag them for follow-up. To help users keep track of important conversations, they can designate individual mail threads as VIP and view them in a custom mailbox that groups VIP threads together. For added security, users can choose to have external email addresses marked in red. And with Exchange, users can also set automatic reply messages from their iOS device.

iOS 8 also offers better data and device management tools with more ways to manage information securely. S/MIME users can choose to sign and encrypt individual messages for greater control over the security of mail messages and there's new productivity features for apps like Mail and Calendar.
