Countdown to iOS 8 release

22.07.14

The eagerly awaited and perhaps biggest iOS release ever is due to hit apple devices this Autumn. Rumoured to be coinciding with the release of the iPhone 6, iOS 8 promises to provide the most natural experience yet, providing streamline enhancements and brand new features.

This year's mobile operating update features an enhanced Messages app, which will enable users to send short voice messages in addition to texts, pictures and videos. Apple is thought to be building in Snapchat- like functionality, so that the voice recordings, photos and videos taken with the new app with auto-delete in seconds.

iOS 8 makes typing even easier with its new smart keyboard. The keyboard suggests appropriate words to complete your sentences and recognises who you’re typing to. It even knows whether you’re in Mail or Messages and adjusts its tone accordingly.

With the upgraded operating system every photo you take will now be available on your iCloud library and on all your devices, meaning users will never be without their photos. iCloud gives users the freedom to access their entire library from any device, anytime they want and no matter where they are. Memorable photos will be even easier to find thanks to smart suggestions, based on what's important to the user, photos taken nearby, taken in the last year, or all-time favourite photos. Regardless of skill levels, smart composition tools, adjustments and editing tools will assist users in creating and taking the exceptional photos.

Sharing content will now be even simpler. Family Sharing enables up to six people in your family to share each other’s iTunes, iBooks, and App Store purchases.

Keen to keep track of your health? iOS 8 even offers an entirely new way to use health and fitness information. The upgrade enables health and fitness apps to talk to each other, and all the information is accessible in one easy‑to‑read dashboard.

But perhaps the most exciting enhancement is for those with multiple Apple devices. The new upgrade enables users to start an email on one device and seamlessly continue on another. And iPhone owners can answer phone calls on their Mac or iPad, and even send SMS messages from any of them - connecting all Apple devices like never before.

iOS 8 even makes a more powerful business partner with its new productivity, security, and device management features. With new time-saving features and VIP mail threads, working on an Apple device has never been so business savvy.
